am gonna get kicked outta here.........!
why are the muslims upset?
- Because Pope Benedict quoted some literature that branded Islam as 'a religion of the sword'
- The text also said some teachings of the Prophet were 'evil and inhuman'
ok, i suppose any person would be upset at having his religion, beliefs and everything he holds sacred considered evil/inhuman.
So what do they do?
they burn down churches, harm and kill a few people. why? to prove that they're not inhuman, that they're good, and Islam is a religion of peace?
apparently, the Pope "has a dark mentality that comes from the darkness of the Middle Ages. He is a poor thing that has not benefited from the spirit of reform in the Christian world." Is it the Pope who preaches the cutting off the hands of a robber, the tongue of a slanderous person? And he's medieval?
i don't understand. Do people lie to others... or have they reached such a state of delusionment that they lie to themselves and justify anything they do?
I always thought people practised a religion because they believe in a God/s, religion is supposed to bring peace. Islam, Christianity ... such beautiful religions. what kind of monsters are we who can kill, sodomize, lie? and profess to believe in a greater god? how did it get that we've twisted around beautiful words to give them awful barbaric customized meanings?
I think i should shut up before i'm kicked out of this country.

I juzz happened to c ur post by chance... I came across ur blog thru ur orkut profile... while searching for some goan info... Though u have rightly put across the matter in ur post. Its a bit fiery.. J U cud be kicked out of the place...
Well.. most religion preaches peace... Most of them do not follow it as well... But there are very few religion which preaches forgiveness and insist upon following it.. Peace cud never be achieved without forgiveness... Other than Christianity.. the only religion I have found to be preaching forgiveness as an important faith is Buddhism. It is also a religion which gives importance for repentance..
So it’s the problem of basic differences in faith… Forgiveness - The most difficult one.. :)
Faith such as Love.. Help.. Peace .. are not so tough to be practiced compare to forgiveness..
It’s tough to alter such basic differences in faith with other religions. So let the hands of a robber, the tongue of a slanderous person continue to be chopped off….. Until the message of Forgiveness reaches them ………………
I do agree with you on how ironical the muslim religion has become. But you've got to note that atrocities in the name of religions have been a part of the Abrahamic religions viz judaism, islam & christanity. During the crusades Christanity & Islam have drawn innocent blood and also during the dark ages christanity has oppressed and killed in the name of God, an example at home in Goa was the dreaded inquisition. I feel islam is also going through its dark ages and hopefully they (muslims) should find a leaders and visionaries who will bring a renaissance in the middle east !
hey furnace... interesting point, but i think every religion talks about forgiveness, islam says "The reward of the evil is the evil thereof, but whosoever forgives and makes amends, his reward is upon Allah."... i think all religions are fundamentally stong, we screw it up on the way
hmmmmmmm... anirudh... i'm not pinpointing islam as such... was talking about religion, in all forms, islam was the convenient example at that point.
i don't think its a religion thats going through its dark ages... its funny, in goa, everyone seems the same, whatever religion, here its not. i have lotsa muslim friends back home who are wonderful. probably because they're used to living in diversity, brought up differently. much more liberal. in certain areas of the world, they're brought up to think that they're the best, everyone else is a second class citizen.they're brought up to believe in the holy war... and killing a woman who smiles at a man is perfectly normal. and thats whats scary. the religion is beautiful if a little violent (kinda like the christian old testament, an eye for an eye etc), it just gets twisted.
I am particularly against muslims either, hey I too had muslim friends and like you say when they've grown up in a liberal society, and they grown up normally like everyone else...heck my good friend tariq in the indian army and has done his time in Srinagar fighting the jihadis...Definately this means the stronger the grip of the religion, the more introvert the members of that religion become. What I was tempted to say is that less stringent religions such as Buddism and hinduism (cos I may be blamed for being biased) dont have the concept of forgiveness b'cos they assume you wont't commit a crime so ghastly that'll deserve a punishment which should be metted out by any human being...if you have, God should take care of it !
having said that Hindusim also has its fair share of disgraceful acts like sati / dowry...but thats another story..atleast Hindusim lets be NOT beleive in God, yes im an atheist. (BTW with no malice or contempt towards beleivers)
Lastly, I feel the basic idealogy of the islam when expressed from within its core, leaves no room to think independantly, has fixed locked up roles for its women and in gives a false sense of security to the societies (or countries) that practise it.
I am particularly NOT against muslims either,
typo error please pardon
well written
